More injured & lost pets and strays due to the Beirut Blast Two weeks after the blast and we are still around the clock rescuing injured pets and strays that have been lost &/or badly injured in all affected areas. The numbers are rising on a daily basis and our team is raising to the challenge to rescue as much calls as possible that are coming to our office and treat those that need it. Some of the animals are directly affected from the blast and some indirectly affected but nevertheless needed rescuing. A cat rescued from the side of the road badly injured, possible internal injuries and an eye that needed surgery to be removed. A cat hiding under a car, completely dehydrated and in pain. A cat with a severe injury to her eye. And some of the rescued dogs are getting some love and having some playful sessions awaiting their guardians to contact us. Animals Lebanon team has been on the ground since day one organizing search teams for all the displaced pets during this horrific disaster. Over 250 volunteers have been with us on the ground, coming from all over Lebanon and we are so grateful for their amazing support! In addition to a team of international vets helping us in treating some of the severely injured pets. We have been and continue to provide food and medical care for the pets of the families who were affected by the blast. There are still many rescued animals we are temporarily caring for, those that have guardians who have passed away or guardians that cannot currently care for them and many strays that were injured during the blast. REUNITED after Beirut Blast and surviving 10 days stuck in shaft Ashta was one of the lost pets that her guardians contacted us about. We have been searching for her since the first days of the blast. After 10 days our team heard her meows coming from a shaft in the destroyed building. Luckily there was water dripping and she was able to survive all this time! She remained with us until her guardian was able to pick her up! We have reunited over 100 animals & are still rescuing animals that are directly & indirectly affected from the blast & caring for the many animals rescued as a result of it.
